I ♥ Dolce & Gabbana

OMG (in the words of Peaches Geldof) I bloody loved Dolce & Gabbana's a/w12 show. BLOODY loved it. More than I think I've ever loved one of their collections and it's definitely one of my faves of the show season.
It was fun, cool and sparkly. With 80 influences - bright sequinned mod jackets and cute bright and star print pointy heels worn with little ankle socks - then some billowing Biba-esque pussybow neckline hippy maxi dresses.
My favourite things were all of the cool star print dresses and tops, fur collars and everything embellished/shiny bright. Obviously it being D&G there was some leopard print involved which just added to the slightly kitsch mix up. LOVED.

I SO want that star dress - starting saving immediately - who needs a house deposit anyway!?

OSCARS 2011

I do love a best dressed list. And the ultimate has to be the Oscars best dressed list. And it was last night. Woohoo...
The best dressed in my opinion had all gone for a similar feel - very pretty, feminine, ethereal, whimsical - pale colours or light metallics. Sexy but most of all lovely.
I adored Mila Kunis' lavender lace Elie Saab Couture dress. It was DEFINITELY my favourite of the whole awards. BEST DRESSED. And I'd totally like it as a wedding dress (not that I'm getting married...), or a shorter version for a 'party' dress.
Then Gwyneth Paltrow whom I usually think of as a little dull but not since that Glee episode... anyway she looked great in Calvin Klein. As did Michelle Williams in Chanel Couture. She just looked amazingly beautiful.
I thought Cate Blanchett looked AMAZE and was probably in the boldest/coolest dress of the night in her Givenchy Couture number - those shoulders rock.
And finally Florence. I just quite love her and totally respect that she can make something similar to a lace curtain look so lovely, pretty and fairy-like. I reckon that look won't have gone down so successfully with the Americans though... a bit Brit cool. Anyway. I liked it. And it was Valentino...

The Royal Wedding

I'm not a Royalist. But I'm totally not at all afraid to admit that I'm massively excited about the royal wedding - who will Kate wear? Will there be outfit changes? What will the bridesmaids dresses be like? How will she have her hair? So much excitement (although not as much as in Gypsy Weddings - but it's unfair to compare anyone's wedding dress to one of Thelma's right?). What's not to love?
So the Kate and Will tee, £25 from New Love Club exclusive to Selfridges is right up my street. Buy now, wear on the big day. Or maybe not that day. But any other.
