Black jewellery - ♥

My favourite jewellery designer is Alex Monroe. I actually LOVE & ADORE every single item - www.alexmonroe.com. It's pretty, delicate, perfect for layering, not try-hard, just perfect. (And every celeb/model I've ever put it on has loved it to. Lisa Faulkner actually bought the cutest gold bumblebee necklace from Monroe on the day of the shoot...)
But I'm even more excited about the new expansion of Monroe's sell out 'The Peacock & The Crow' collection... I want the cool prettily gothic black feather ring. ♡♥♡♥♡

GO Nicole!

Is anyone else HEARTING Nicole Richie's look at the moment?
She looks amazing on the cover of Marie Claire (actually made me buy the mag which I haven't done in... ages!)
She's 'designed' a fashion collection - Winter Kate, and added shoes to her House of Harlow label. Both of which are really NOW (see dress - above). And they're all launching in Selfridges this Fri. Whoop. Apparently they've bought an amazing selection from the range.
And if you REALLY love Nicole she'll be instore on Fri doing a signing from 6-7pm... I just can't wait to see what she wears... x

Bally goes COOOOOOOL

I've just left a showcase for Bally... showing off their shoe collab with five new amazingly talented designers, all students from 'fashion central' Central St Martins Fashion Design course (where Stella etc went).
The brief was to create fabulous heels with a luxury feel and in the 'Bally' style... the end result is cool, massively creative but somehow approachable... not TOO fashion.
My fave's were the (pic) nude-ish zip-back shoes from Charles Youssef... WANT. But I overheard Diane Von Furstenberg cooing over the chunky heeled boots from William Hendry...
The other three designers were Estefania Cortés Harker, Frida Hofslagare and Stephanie Turner.
Names to remember...

Our new style crush!

The fashion world has been taken over by Alice In Wonderland madness... in the lead up to the new Johnny Depp film (argh!).
I have to say I am loving it. If I could I'd LOVE to dress up like a Disney film pretty girly twirly dress character everyday. But Disney don't do costume's in my size. And the others available are from Ann Summers... hmm, not quite the look I was going for.
Anyway... Selfridges are hosting a new pop-up shop which opens TODAY - the Alice In Wonderland Room. It displays costumes from the film (SO worth seeing) and Alice inspired pieces from Stella McCartney, Tom Binns (etc etc) and the new Alice by Alice Temperley collection (LOVE THIS).
On another note if you want a FREE Alice by Alice Temperley T-shirt from the new S/S collection get down to Soho Square, London at 1pm tomorrow. They're actually giving them away, just head to the Alice bus...
Then on a BEAUTY note Paul & Joe are releasing Alice inspired beauty prods - launch 25th Feb on ASOS. Cute as.

Things I ♥ @ fashion week

  • Maria Francesca Pepe's wolf tee - sexy!
  • Nina Dolcetti lace-up boots. Literally can't wait till these are out... hopefully will have paid my tax bill by then so will be able to afford...
  • Sonya Kashmiri beautiful leather huge bag - and it's even called Miss Charlotte! We'll pretend its named after me, yeah.
  • PPQ are BACK. After a couple of seasons that weren't so good the new A/W10 collection is cool, hot... just like it used to be. Yay.
  • Betty Jackson's whole collection - was totally worth getting up at 8am (on a Sunday!) in the pouring rain for. Especially loved the slinky gold wet-look draped dresses and tops, the gold metallic shirt, denim on denim looks, cool baggy knits and ALL the shoes. I'd like to wear the whole collection now PLEASE.

Eternal Child

How much do you love the name of this label!?
Eternal Child
....
Discovered it this morning whilst mooching around the London Fashion Week exhibition (I'm sure you're well aware it is the week that is fashion right now - and if you weren't just pretend you totally knew and just were SO manic you couldn't take the time out to go... yeah). And it is the most gorgeously cool creative knitwear label. Kind of a little grungy - or you could style it up to be - but cutesy to. Like a 'happy' knitted American Apparel.
I LOVE IT.
Check it out on www.eternal-child.com - the S/S collection is even better. More vibrant prints, stripes and cute fur/zip details...

Brits!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be backstage at the Brits. Amazing.
Here's my highlights...

  • Lady Gaga walking past me backstage carrying a gold teacup and saucer. Wearing some sort of cotton wool ball pastel coloured creation (and that was for dress down time...)
  • Actually giving the LEGEND that is Tom Ford a business card for this very blog. If you're reading Tom, you are AMAZING. He told me Lady Gaga was his best-dressed lady of the night...
  • My best dressed were:
  • ITV2 show presenter Caroline Flack who looked HOT in a Maurie & Eve dress of coolness, black opaques and ankle boots...
  • Lady Gaga obviously is TOTALLY amazing. But she scares me.
  • Courtney Love-d. In Miu Miu.
  • Lily looked stunning in the long Chanel dress she wore for the red carpet... NOT massively sure about her hair at the mo though!?
  • Pixie Lott was cute to in a black tiny weeny mini dress... and Florence was stunning in everything.
To be honest there weren't many hideous fashion mistakes made... Lily should NEVER have put on the orange wig. And Leona's pink heels were a bit to 'not her' with the dress. She should have worn something black and cooler with it... but if that's the worst I think all of celeb-dom deserves a big CLAP.
THE END

Sorry to post more sneakers... but they're Louboutin!!!

Popped in to the fabulousness that is Harvey Nichols at the weekend to see the amaze new 4th floor (also know as my wishful new home from home). Alexander Wang, Halston, Limited Edition Louboutin studded leather sneakers (£545), unique constantly changing designer collaborations, exhibitions and products - all on one floor. And not just clothes but everything you've ever wanted... style-wise anyway. LOVE.

Not massively Valentines but REALLY COOL

Okay my nod to the most romantic day of the year is Converse's new 'I love' Chuck Taylor All Stars (well they have a ♥ on!). And... even more importantly they're for charity. To support Product (RED), every purchase sends a contribution of 5-15% to the Global Fund which is helping to eliminate AIDS in Africa. So put your heart to good use and buy... (£41.99 at Schuh)

Chanel loves Shanghai

I can hardly bare it... Chanel have created an amazingly adorable new collection of accessories and costume jewellery inspired by China (with a touch of humour!) to celebrate the opening of the Universal Exhibition on May 1st in Shanghai.
Personally I'm obsessed with Chinese dolls - mainly because my flatmates say I look a bit like one. I actually don't and I'm not Chinese -but I them anyway - so I'm massively excited about the doll bag and earrings. And have you ever seen anything cooler than the take-away bag... and it's Chanel!!! Then the big red or green sequin takes on the classic bag shape are SO going to be at the top of every celeb's most wanted list... ♥♥♥

So sad

RIP McQueen. Such a tragic sad loss.

Wearing my favourite McQueen skull vest in his honor.

Sonia Rykiel pour H&M

S
onia Rykiel has joined forces with H&M (again) to create a whole S/S knitwear collection. It's typical Sonia with hallmark bold stripes and bright colours, actually SO similar to her mainline those not in 'mode' would be none the wiser... and it's H&M's first designer collab to include kids wear, jut for the girls mind. Hence the adorable doll which I WANT. Other fave's include the black knit jumpsuit, stripe socks (wear on show under a heeled brogue or ankle boot) and the oversized bold stripe sweater - so I can look like the doll.
Instore 20th Feb. (Doll, £14.99, socks, £2.99, sweater, £29.99, jumpsuit, £49.99... cheap!! Yay!!)

I ♥ Maurie & Eve

Today I've been doing lots of 'fashion' appointments and seen SO many gorgeous dresses and bits... And I've discovered my new favourite label - www.maurieandeve.com, available at Bunnyhug and in Urban Outfitters. Total cute-ness, but cool, sexy and just that right kind of 'models own' look. The colours are fresh and candy-like, H.O.T for Spring with a good amount of rocky black/sparkle... And love the emphasis on shoulders. A label destined for stardom me thinks... can't wait to shoot this stuff!!!

Monday 8 February 2010

That snow outside, it's bright. You need new shades.

It's not that often you see a pair of sunglasses that make you go oooooohhh. But the military cool masculine-ness (that'd be because they're technically mens - apparently Jude Law has a pair...) of these John Galliano's REALLY does. And they look great on. On me anyway! So put this date in your diary - March 1st - they hit Harvey Nichols. £299 a pop.

Sunday 7 February 2010

Stripe me down

Apologies for the lack of postings the last couple of days but I've been in Barcelona shooting, was intending to post something from some sort of new amazing Spanish label I was going to unearth but we were SO crazy busy didn't even make it to Zara... so I'm straight to Harvey Nichols tomorrow for retail therapy. American Retro's mega-cool Janis jumper lands instore tomorrow so it would be kind of rude not to.... It's holey unfinished look screams shabby sexy... I'll wear it with a black lace vest underneath. Excitement.

Low Luv LOVE

Coolest 'we wannabe her' model ever Erin Wasson is launching her own jewellery collection Low Luv X exclusively this month (so, like, any day now!) on my-wardrobe.com. I know I said I'm not a massive jewellery person but I want, NEED, every piece in this collection. It's hot. If I had to choose one piece, hmm, the knuckle ring in gold... fabulousness on your finger.

Chanel. Clogs. Amazing. Fact.

Who'd have though a year ago that the simple clog would be the most desired summer shoe? I remember my first clogs - red leather - handmade - I ♥'d them and wish to god they fitted me now!! Oh well I'll have to console myself with a pair of new season Chanel's instead... leather a la Alexa on the new Vogue cover (from £470). Or these cream babies (from £600). Decisions, decisions.

Roses are red...

Ah, pretty pretty pretty...
I know what I'm doing Thurs 25th March - purchasing H&M's entire new Garden Collection. Amazing floral graphic prints, those nice fitting jersey vests that look amazing and slouchy with everything and the cutest dress I've ever seen for £29.99 (the red rose one on the pretty girl! ). Getting the jacket (34.99) too to wear with messed up skinnies...
